Role: Test Release and Support Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Onsite - Cambridge - CB4 0WZ
Rate: £25 P/HOUR - Umbrella
Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting manual testing and factory release of our endpoint security software products
- Triaging, investigating and documenting issues raised by HP's testing teams using Jira and internal tools
- Liaising between testers, developers and product managers to resolve issues
- Making software releases to the testing and factory teams, including ongoing management/configuration and production of supporting artefacts
- Maintenance and development of internal process and system documentation
Job Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience in technical support, preferably with log analysis
- Good understanding of Windows, including applications (MS Office suites, browsers) and system tools (registry, event viewer)
- Confident command line user
- Hands-on experience of ticketing software (e.g. Jira)
- Familiarity with standard software development methodologies
The following skills and attributes are a plus:
- Commercial software testing experience, including writing test cases
- Management of test infrastructure and environments
- Knowledge of a programming language such as PowerShell, Python, C#
- Experience with remote connectivity solutions (e.g. TeamViewer) and working with globally distributed development teams
- Familiarity with a hardware-led environment
