Tax - Finance Manager
£425.00 per day PAYE

Our client is currently searching for a Tax - Finance Manager to join their team in Coventry on an initial 3-month basis! Within this position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that tax filings are robust and technically accurate. You will review and implement process and tax efficiency savings across tax compliance, corporation tax, VAT and Construction Industry Scheme and withholding tax.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing VAT and CIS reporting and compliance process.
  • Technical review of all VAT returns and reconciliations for all entities to ensure robust and accurate, addressing complex issues.
  • Review of CIS returns and reconciliations for all UK entities monthly to ensure robust and accurate, addressing complex issues and queries.
  • Assisting with the collation of information for corporation tax returns, working closely with external providers and wider finance teams.
  • Management of the VAT and CIS registrations for the UK business.
  • Ensure indirect tax filings are robust and technically accurate.
  • Review and implement process and tax efficiency savings across VAT and Construction Industry Scheme withholding tax.
  • Ensuring knowledge of relevant indirect tax matters is maintained, including VAT and CIS, and providing guidance across the business.
  • Collaborate with the business to discuss and resolve ad-hoc tax-related issues and queries.
  • Driving process documentation and process improvements in tax environment.
  • Working closely with the wider finance teams, ensuring accounting systems and processes are up to date from a tax technical perspective.
  • Supporting Finance Director - Control and Finance Director - Accounting with HMRC and external auditor queries.
  • Ownership for preparation of HMRC filing disclosures.
  • Supporting Finance Director - Control in the SAO assurance process.
  • Assisting in maintaining a tax risk register and driving improvements in tax control environment.

Skills / Experience:

  • CTA qualified for equivalent (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Prior experience in an Indirect Tax role, with previous experience dealing with CIS.
  • Proficient user of Excel.
  • A good knowledge and understanding of tax risk and controls.
  • Experience within the Construction or House Building sector would be an advantage.
  • Proven post-qualification experience preferably in practice but will consider individuals from Industry.
