Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Thermal/Stress

Location: WFH with 1/2 days a week onsite in South West England

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 DOE (PAYE contract)

Duration: 6 months +

Client: Engineering/Aerospace

My client is a DEFENCE client therefore it is essential that you are a British Passport holder OR an EU citizen with UK settled status.

Experis have partnered with one of the largest names in the Engineering industry to find talented Stress Engineers for a huge project.

If you have experience in stress/vibration/heat transfer analyses we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Perform stress analysis using complex finite element & classical book calculation methods, & support testing
  • Perform heat transfer analysis in practice and theory (analytical correlations and complex finite element methods) and related topics in thermodynamics, single and multi-phase flows, and energy systems
  • Provide technical oversight to global engineering teams across time zones
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Requirements validation
  • Project and product compliance
  • Risk management
  • Process Development
  • Root Cause and Corrective Action

Essential Experience:

  • Performing thermal & stress analysis on turbomachinery, gas turbine engines, motors and/or other similar components and systems

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in all modes of heat transfer, thermodynamics, thermal sciences, and two-phase thermophysics
  • Proficiency in linear static, nonlinear/elasto-plastic, fatigue (HCF & LCF), modal, shock, harmonic, random vibration, & crack growth analyses
