Title: Network Integration Engineer (RAN)

Length: 2 month (with extension)

Rate: £468 (via umbrella)

Location: Suffolk

Senior RAN SME job profile

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to integrate and commission OpenRAN elements RU, DU, and CU, involving Transport Network, RAN and Core platforms in the customer pilot and commercial deployments
  • Detailed analysis of element logs and subscriber traces to pinpoint and resolve integration issues including Networking troubleshooting layer 2 and layer 3 issues using sniffers (Wireshark, tcpdump, etc.)
  • React to customer requests in a timely & professional manner and own & resolve, with the assistance of other team members, all assigned issues in a timely & professional manner
  • Define and author the System Architecture specifications that meet the customer requirements from an end-to-end perspective
  • Creation of integration procedures, as built documents, software upgrade and rollback procedures for each element or service delivered to customer
  • Execute the test cases and find improvement areas to communicate and suggest workaround in short period of time
  • Provide technical inputs and requirements to Product team as and when required throughout the POC cycle
  • Adds value to the team as a resource in his or her field of product expertise in addition to leveraging this expertise across the telecommunications field as a whole by actively participate in technical transfer sessions
  • Identify improvements to support processes to the management team & assist in improvement initiative

Skills & Experience Required

  • Good articulation skills
  • Extensive recent experience in LTE/5G system integration, testing and troubleshooting (system logs, OS logs, UE logs, network logs, etc.)
  • RAN Integration knowledge and experience and proven track history
  • Knowledge in OpenRAN integration protocols between RU, DU and CU
  • Strong end-to-end RAN knowledge (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G)
  • RAN Technologies (vRAN, Small Cells, MIMO, Timing and Sync with GPS, PTP)
  • Understanding of Networking Protocols like IP, TCP, SCTP, IPSEC
  • Understanding of 3GPP standards, including procedures, call flows, KPI, statistics
  • Provide knowledge transfer and knowledge sharing to internal teams and colleagues
  • Good knowledge of Linux OS
  • Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new technologies and concepts.
