The pay rate on offer is £450 per day.
The client is an iconic, multinational high-street retailer.
RETAIL or FMCG experience is essential. Financial analysis on trading performance, developing insight for profitable decision making.
The client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Manager in the Clothing & Home Commercial finance team. This team is crucial in supporting the business unit to navigate not only the current challenges but also looking ahead and influencing the future strategic direction of the business. We are looking for a commercial and experienced finance professional who is able to hit the ground running and drive clear impactful insight and support profitable decision making.
Job Purpose/Scope of Role:
This role business partners the trading leadership team in C&H, acting as the 'eyes and ears' of finance within the business unit and responsible for driving profitable decision making. You will have financial ownership for the business unit, supporting the business to achieve its profit, stock and cash targets. To be successful in the role you will need to work as a commercial and strategic business partner, looking at the big picture to deliver insight across both long-term planning and day to day trading.
Key responsibilities:
- P&L ownership for the trading area, acting as a trusted business partner supporting the business to grow profitably.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis on trading performance, adding value through interpreting and analysing data.
- Understand key sales, margin and profitability drivers and pro-actively undertake analysis to support driving profitable sales and maximise margin.
- Be able to stand back and identify trends and insight that will be key to the future success of the business unit.
- Provide financial support on key strategic programmes, driving challenge and insight.
- Improve the gross profit return on stock investment, making sure stock holdings are aligned to forward plans.
- Ownership for all forecast, Budget and 3YP outputs, delivering insight to the leadership team into strategic initiatives, key assumptions and risk and opportunities within the plan.
- Ensuring strong financial control across the trading, planning and forecasting processes.
Key experience:
- Qualified accountant with significant commercial finance experience
- Relevant consumer industry experience (Retail or FMCG)
- Strong analytical skills - financial analysis on trading performance for specific business unit
- Demonstrable experience of supporting growth through financial management
- Ability to communicate with impact to senior management, business stakeholders and other finance teams
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- A quick learner, who is enthusiastic, and solution driven
