Our client within the defence space is currently searching for a Data Migration Engineer to join their team! They are looking for someone to come in and support on the migration from their current infrastructure over to SAP.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify and document legacy systems used within the business, including spreadsheets, databases, and other tools that may not be widely known within the organization.
- Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, from first-line supervisors to directors, to understand how these systems are utilised.
- Capture detailed information on system usage in a structured manner.
- Analyse and document data structures and the data contained within these legacy systems.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights within the legacy systems.
- Develop and implement data engineering solutions to integrate and streamline data from legacy systems into modern platforms.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy during the migration and integration processes
Key Skills / Requirements:
- Strong understanding of legacy systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Experience in developing and implementing data integration and migration solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience working with Enterprise Asset Management Systems (i.e. Maximo, IFS, Elipse, etc)
- Preferable to have experience from Rail, utilities or Defence background
