Job Title: Software Engineer (SC Cleared)
Location: Farnborough
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Rate: Up to £745 per day via an approved umbrella company
Must be willing and eligible to go through the SC Clearance process
Our client, a leading organisation supporting maritime test and evaluation facilities, is hiring for a highly skilled Software Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team in Farnborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to innovative projects focused on modernising systems through digital signal processing.
What you'll be doing:
* Developing and integrating complex software systems for maritime test and evaluation facilities.
* Supporting the design, development, testing, and delivery of digital signal processing solutions.
* Collaborating effectively with stakeholders, customers, and colleagues across various platforms.
* Managing change control and configuration processes to ensure quality and consistency.
* Applying your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimise software solutions.
What you'll bring:
* Strong problem-solving and engineering skills with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
* Proven experience in designing, developing, and delivering complex software systems.
* Proficiency in C++ and Linux environment development.
* Knowledge of analogue-to-digital (ADC) and digital-to-analogue (DAC) converters and digital signal processing.
* Effective communication skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Desirable skills include:
* Experience in defence or related sectors.
* Embedded software development for target hardware.
* Familiarity with coding standards, static code analysis, and Agile practices such as Scrum, CI/CD, TDD, and BDD.
* Experience with Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
* 4-7 years of software development experience across multiple programming languages.
