SC Cleared - Senior IT (Data Centre Break/Fix) Engineer - (London Area)
Working Hours:
7.5-hour working day between 07:00 - 19:00 (flexible within this window)
About the Role
You'll be part of our Ring Fenced Team (RFT), a group of 15 engineers supporting the London area. The team provides cover for sickness, holidays, resource-on-demand requests, and project work across multiple customer accounts-including government and banking sectors. Due to the nature of these clients, Security Clearance (SC) will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intermediate to advanced desktop support including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and break/fix services.
- Deliver basic Wintel server support including installation, configuration, administration, and hardware repairs.
- Support a variety of hardware and software platforms, accredited through vendor training (e.g., HP, Dell, Lenovo).
- Occasionally drive a customer-supplied vehicle to satellite sites-clean driving license required.

Technical Skills & Experience
Desktop & Mobile Support:
- Windows 10/11 desktop and laptop support (HP, Dell, Lenovo)
- macOS support (MacBook and desktop)
- Office 365 and Microsoft Teams
- Apple and Android mobile devices
- Wireless connectivity and fault diagnostics
- Walk-up Tech Bar and floor-walking support
System Administration:
- OS navigation, desktop shortcuts, printer setup, and network mapping
- Laptop/desktop build and configuration using scripted processes
- Moves, changes, and workstation setups
Server & Data Centre:
- Experience with HP ProLiant (Gen8-Gen10), Dell servers, Lenovo blades
- Backup systems, tape libraries, storage configuration, and hardware support
- Cisco hardware knowledge
Additional Requirements
- Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory.
- Must have hands-on experience with server break/fix in a data centre environment.
- Willingness to travel and drive as needed.
