Senior DevOps Engineer / Cloud Infrastructure Developer
Location: Manchester (Hybrid: flexible - team base preferred; Cheltenham or London possible)
Duration: Until 31/03/2026 (with potential for extension or contract-to-perm)
Office Presence: 3 days per week, coordinated with team schedule

Our Client is hiring for a reputed organisation to support their cloud-first transformation. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Cloud Tooling Development project, enhancing and developing tooling for GitLab to support infrastructure and cloud migration initiatives.
What you'll be doing:
* Developing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD tooling to optimise deployment pipelines
* Automating infrastructure using Terraform for scalable, reliable environments
* Supporting cloud migration and infrastructure setup on AWS
* Managing container orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker
* Collaborating closely with development teams to ensure seamless deployment processes
What you'll bring:
* Proven experience in Java development
* Strong hands-on expertise with Terraform and AWS cloud infrastructure
* Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
* Extensive experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines
* Eligibility to work as a sole British National (client requirement)
Desirable skills:
* Advanced GitLab administration and automation
* Experience with multi-cloud strategies or other cloud platforms
* Good understanding of security best practices within CI/CD pipelines
