Job Title SAP S/4HANA Finance Data Migration Lead

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP S/4HANA Finance Data Test Lead to own and drive the data validation and reconciliation testing strategy across a major SAP Finance transformation.
The organisation is migrating from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, where high‑quality, reconciled, and audit‑compliant financial data is critical to programme success. This role will work closely with Finance SMEs, D&T teams, Data Migration Leads, and System Integrator (SI) partners to ensure data integrity across all testing phases and through to go‑live.
The successful candidate will bring deep SAP Finance data expertise, alongside experience leveraging AI‑driven tools to accelerate reconciliation, validation, and defect analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Data Test Strategy & Governance
- Define and own the Finance data migration strategy.
- Establish reconciliation principles across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
- Define data validation checkpoints for each test phase (SIT, UAT, Dress Rehearsal, Go‑Live).
- Ensure compliance with audit and financial control requirements.
Data Migration & Reconciliation
- Validate migrated data including:
- General Ledger balances
- Open AP / AR items
- Fixed Assets
- Cost Centres and Profit Centres
- Vendor and Customer master data
- Lead trial migration validation cycles.
- Define automated reconciliation frameworks.
- Ensure financial sign‑off readiness.
AI‑Enabled Data Acceleration
- Leverage AI tools to:
- Automate reconciliation comparisons between ECC and S/4HANA
- Identify anomalies and data inconsistencies
- Accelerate root cause analysis of migration defects
- Support intelligent sampling and risk‑based validation
- Improve efficiency and accuracy of financial data testing.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Data Migration Leads and SI teams to resolve defects.
- Partner with Finance SMEs to validate financial accuracy and business usability.
- Collaborate with D&T colleagues to ensure integration data consistency.
- Support internal and external audit queries related to data migration.
Cutover & Hypercare
- Validate final migration loads.
- Support dress rehearsals and cutover readiness assessments.
- Provide data validation support during hypercare.
- Ensure a clean transition to BAU with reconciled and signed‑off data
Skills & Experience Required
- 8+ years SAP Finance experience with a strong focus on data migration and testing.
- Proven experience supporting SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA transformations.
- Deep understanding of SAP Finance tables, data structures, and reconciliation processes.
- Strong financial controls and audit awareness.
- Experience using AI or advanced analytics tools for data validation and reconciliation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across Finance, D&T, and SI environments.
- Retail sector experience is desirable.
