Project Manager - LAN/WAN - Project Management - Derby/Hybrid - 6 months

Our client, a market leading multi-national technology company are looking for a Project Manager, to join them in Derby. The assignment is an initial 6 - month contract and can offer a competitive daily rate.

Role Overview:

  • Project Manager in the LAN/WAN space, activity around refreshing existing network equipment.
  • Accountable for accepting project definitions, scope requirements from the Business partner to convert into and mobilise a project.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and lead the project team, taking appropriate action where team performance deviate
  • Identifies, assesses, and manages risks to ensure the success of the project.
  • Ensures that project and quality plans are prepared and provides regular reports to stakeholders
  • Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital costs against the project budget and manages expectations of all project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate deliverable acceptance process.
  • Ensures adherence to the project plan (milestones) and budget.
  • Manage escalations with stakeholders both internally and with any Supply Chain Supplier/Vendors.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and monitor work to meet time, cost and quality targets
  • Manages all periodic reporting
  • Responsible for strategic resource planning to meet work volumes and ensure the team meets project commitments.
  • Ensures required documentation exists for all required projects, including communication plans, implementation plans are all interlocked with Eco Partners.
  • Implements jeopardy management and reporting to ensure delivery of service compliant with contractual SLA's, ensuring project are closed effectively.

Key skills needed:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management at a senior level both internally and externally
  • Ability to innovate to resolve complex problems
  • High degree of business and commercial acumen
  • Strong leadership capability with an ability to lead and motivate high performing teams
  • Significant experience of leading and delivering complex projects, requiring management of medium-term and long-term timeframes
  • High Level of customer management skills
  • In depth understanding of contractual commitments around delivery timelines and contractual obligations
  • Understanding and experience of ITIL Functions
  • Relevant Project / Programme Management certification
