Job Title: OSINT Data Scientist (Technical Lead)
Location: London
Working Model: 2 to 3 days on-site
Duration: up to 6 months with further extensions till end of 2024
Inside IR35 via Umbrella: Paystream, Advance, Giant

ACE:
The ACE (Accelerated Capability Environment) is a Home Office unit within the Homeland Security Group (HSG). The initiative was set up in early 2017, powered by Vivace, to solve the fast-changing digital and technological challenges facing law enforcement and national security agencies.

ACE have several commissions in a number of areas including Policing, FCDO and Immigration Enforcement with a common theme around OSINT / Publicly Available Information. We are looking for expertise to help delivery these commission around the collection and analysis of information from wide ranging sources that may be applicable and appropriate for exploitation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership to delivery
  • Working with supplier teams to agree approaches
  • Reviewing documented deliverables to ensure technical quality is appropriate
  • On a per sprint basis, provide planning input to ensure correct activity is being undertaken, including input to Jira boards
  • Reviewing Technical Dependencies to highlight potential conflicts
  • Reviewing and helping refine delivery plans
  • Proactively input to RAID advising of new/emergent topics for the RAID and reviewing current status
  • Reviewing and helping refine delivery plans

OSINT

  • Techniques and sources for collection
  • Appropriate analytical methods around Personal, organisational and network information
  • Knowledge Extraction of findings for actionable insights
  • Understanding of legal and ethical considerations
  • Familiarity with large open source datasets

Data Science

  • Correlation
  • Classification
  • Outlier detection
  • Clustering
  • Regression
  • Tracking patterns
  • Understanding of ML/ AI approaches towards NLP
  • Create algorithms and data models to forecast outcomes
  • Deploy data tools such as Python, R, SAS, or SQL in data analysis
