Lead Network Architect - Networks - DC LAN Cisco

Location: London (2 days onsite, 3 days remote)

Duration: 12 months

Inside IR35 - Umbrella only

Our client, a reputable organisation supporting critical national infrastructure, is hiring for a Lead Network Architect to join a high-profile project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape enterprise and data centre network architecture within a dynamic environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise and data centre network architectures, ensuring alignment with security, services, and business needs.
  • Provide comprehensive network solutions, including logical and physical designs, security, and integration with broader IT systems.
  • Ensure architectural governance and compliance, working closely with peer lead architects and reporting to the Chief Architect.
  • Collaborate with multi-supplier eco-systems, including IBM-led teams, to deliver Green IT Infrastructure solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners.
  • Apply your expertise within the UK Public Sector and critical national infrastructure, including emergency services and communication systems.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience in enterprise and data centre network architecture, with strong knowledge of Cisco technologies.
  • Deep understanding of Green IT Infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide technical teams and stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical details for diverse audiences.
  • Experience working within the UK Public Sector and critical national infrastructure environments.
  • Knowledge of security, services, processes, and systems integration.
  • Familiarity with communication/telco systems and working within eco-systems involving multiple suppliers.
  • UK national with a minimum of five years of unbroken residency.
