Financial sector specialists are seeking a technically strong 2nd Line presence to impact and enhance an existing team of 5 x Technical Support Analysts.

As a 2nd Line Technical Support Analyst your focus will be on Windows Server Support, Server Builds, Windows / Microsoft Applications, Upgrades, Deployments and Migrations.

As part of the Technical Support Team providing 2nd Line Support for IT Systems and Supporting Technologies, you will also be responsible for evaluating and assessing the impact of reported issues, recommending and implementing resolutions which you will be required to escalate to the 3rd Line Support function.

Based at the Client's West Bromwich HQ, you will need experience and skills across a number of technologies.

Key Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in a 2nd level Technical Support role
  • Detailed knowledge of Virtualisation i.e. VMware.
  • Detailed knowledge of Windows Server Operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of RedHat Linux
  • Knowledge of SAN, Storage Area Networks, preferably around Dell and EMC
  • Automation Systems Management tasks using Windows PowerShell or Linux Shell Scripting.
  • A proven track record of resolving IT technical issues.
  • Ability to produce clear and detailed technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintenance of a wide range of infrastructure and business software tools.
  • Support and maintenance for Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Support and maintenance for Virtualisation Infrastructure (VMWare).
  • Storage Area Network support and maintenance.
  • Assist in the resolution of assigned calls made to the IT Service Desk.
  • Manage allocated workload and issues to meet project timescales.
  • Liaise with third party suppliers to resolve IT related issues.
  • Assist in ensuring Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Provide out of hours support for IT Systems.
  • Ensuring Security procedures are followed and advise on I.T. security related issues.
  • Producing quality documentation.

Highly Desirable but not Imperative will be Professional Certifications or equivalent in the relevant field of expertise:

  • MCP / MCSE
  • VMware
  • Linux / Redhat
  • ITIL
