Building, Facilities and Construction sector specialists are seeking a strong technical presence to impact and enhance their current IT Solutions function.
As the IT Solutions & Design Engineer, you will be required to offer a mix of Technical and Functional expertise with the development, maintenance, continuously improve and support both internal and client-facing IT infrastructures, including Servers, Storage, Networks and Telecoms Systems, this incudes Cloud & on-premises systems.
You will be "Home-Based" but also required to lead and be accountable for the design, build, administration and maintenance of the Enterprise IT Infrastructure Services making sure users have efficient, accurate and secure access to II infrastructure resources.
Key Technical Skills:
- Practical experience in the design and implementation of an enterprise-wide digital transformation initiative particularly in Microsoft Technologies
- Experience in a Technical role responsible for managing Server, Storage and Network environments
- Advanced knowledge of Azure, Office 365, MS Windows Servers
- Windows 10, Active Directory, VMWare, Exchange
- Knowledge Airwatch, Ivanti, Sophos, Blackberry Cylance, Veeam, PTRG
- Experience in Microsoft tools for End Point aka SCCM and Mobility Management
- Knowledge Airwatch, Ivanti, Sophos, Blackberry Cylance, Veeam, PTRG
- Experience in supporting and maintaining Citrix / NetScaler
- Understanding of Virtualisation, Networking, Clustering, Load Balancing & VDI Solutions
- Experience in a technical analytical role responsible for managing server, storage and network environments
- Strong knowledge in Active Directory, NTFS permissions, Windows Servers
- Cisco AnyConnect and Cloud Services (IaaS, PaaS etc)
- Building WAN/LAN and Cloud Network Infrastructures
- Familiarity with Network Protocols, Firewall Management, and Operating Systems Configuration
- Experience of configuration of LDAP, ADFS, Single Sign On directory services
- Experience in Microsoft tools for Unified Communications and Collaboration
- Working knowledge of Firewalls, Web Filtering, Mail Filtering and end point security
- Working knowledge of MS SQL relational database an advantage
Key Functional Responsibilities:
- Provide support and technical direction in accordance with business requirements, relevant laws and regulations
- Assist in the maintenance of client certification and compliance obligations
- Avoid breaches of any law, statutory, regulatory, or contractual obligations.
- Maintain patching policy
- Log Management & Analysis
- Document processes & procedures and update existing documentation
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of current hardware in-line with expected performance and security guidelines.
- Lead the incident management process and the investigation of breaches of information security and recommend appropriate control improvements.
- Ensure that the infrastructure is available at all times
- Maintain Confidentiality, Integrity & Availability of Information
- Act as internal escalation and engagement point for 3rd Party infrastructure services
- Perform ongoing identification and mitigation of potential risks their probable business impact
- Assist in other activities of the Technology Services as directed
- To maintain appropriate records and time spent, actions taken and item status to facilitate management, future problem resolution and to update users

- Physical Server Reduction and Comms Room Power consumption.
- Chair and prepare material and reports for regular Infrastructure Team Meetings
Microsoft, Cisco, VMware or ITIL Certifications will be advantageous.
