International Organisation are seeking an IT Systems & Server Engineer for their Hosting and Storage team
Working as a key player alongside other Network and Infrastructure Specialists, you will support the Server, Hosting & Storage Team in the development and implementation of team, departmental and business wide service improvements, plus the input of planning and technical remediation initiatives.
Including a mix of BAU and Project work, your key tasks will be to support the strategic planning and implementation of the Hosting & Storage targets and service objectives. This will involve planning, scheduling and implementing all Change Requests and Maintenance activities for the team as well as on-going Root Cause Analysis a within the Hosting and Storage function.
Your Key technical expertise will include:
- Windows Servers 2016, 2919
- MS Office 365, MS Azure, Active Directory, Exchange
- Virtualisation, VMware, Hyper-V
- Storage Infrastructure, SAN / NAS
- Hosted Cloud Datacenter, Physical & Virtual Server Estates
- MECM
- Cohesity
- NetApp or similar
- Professional (MCSA or MCSE) Certification or equivalent in the relevant field
- Management Toolsets (e.g. ServiceNow, Remedy, LANDesk, WorkFront, etc)
- Knowledge of backup technologies (e.g. OSSV, DPM, NetBackup, Backup Exec, Coheisty)
Your key requirements will include:
- Experience in the BAU, Shared Services or Commercial IT Services operation
- Confident in fault diagnosis across technologies & platforms and experience of rectifying faults within strict SLAs
- Extensive experience in the monitoring and maintenance of internal IT servers, systems platforms of servers and virtual environments
- Configuring and maintaining monitoring tools and systems
- Configuring and updating Linux and Windows operating systems
- Knowledge and experience across maintenance tool sets
- ITIL Foundation Level as a minimum
- Experience operating in a change control and configuration management environment
- Ability to competently act as the technical point contact of escalation for incidents
- The ability to Investigate potential future technologies and solutions that may benefit the IT and hosting, storage or operating system estate
- Experience of using Project Management, Time Recording and Service Management Toolsets (e.g. ServiceNow, Remedy, LANDesk, WorkFront, etc)
- Experience using and reporting with enterprise grade data analysis tools.
- Experience of managing and maintaining anti-virus servers and solutions.
- Windows Server experience or certification in areas including AD, Group Policy
- Knowledge of backup technologies (e.g. OSSV, DPM, Netbackup, Backup Exec)
Professional Certifications desirable but not essential in the relevant field of expertise
