Day Rate: £450 - £520

The Implementation Manager uses knowledge of the HMRC's IT strategy, its existing IT landscape and industry best practice to deliver Implementation and Change Management services to projects, ensuring that any implementation or change is planned, co-ordinated and managed according to project or Live Service requirements.
The Implementation Manager will provide guidance on Implementation and Change Management best practice at both a Strategic level and for HMRC specific Projects, Service Delivery and Enhancements. The Implementation Manager plans, co-ordinates and manages complex, multi-phase or mission critical implementation and change activities for either new projects or upgrades to existing services.

Typical aspects of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Ability to co-ordinate multiple Suppliers/organisations.

  • Timely and effective communications over agreed channels; appropriate tools knowledge and technical skills; holds relevant technical certifications; Strong stakeholder management; Strong Project Management and performance Testing skills; excellent attention to detail.
    * Define the Implementation Strategy for a project, including assessments of any Implementation risks.
    * Produce a detailed schedule of activities and, if necessary, a timeline for the implementation.
    * Identify specific implementation risks to the project and lead solutions
    * Team leadership
    * Produce a communication plan and compile a supporting contact list of responsible parties and escalation managers associated with the implementation.
    * Deliver the implementation on time and to the required quality and provide regular and accurate updates throughout the implementation.
    * Identify and escalate any risks emerging around the implementation.
    * Advise and guide the Client on implementation or change issues, specific to current project.
    * Carry out post Implementation reviews.
    * Assess success of implementation.
    * Identify what went well and what could be improved, including improvements to Implementation and Change Management process and procedures.
    * Facilitate and Chair successful IM Forums and strategy meetings of any size and lead solutions involving the client.
    * Provide accurate minutes of meetings and other management information.
    * Contribute to an ongoing cycle of process improvement and contribute to implementation of best practice.
    * Use Project Management disciplines, processes and planning tools.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Sets the organisation\'s policy for the management of change in live services and test environments. Ensures effective control and treatment of risk to the availability, performance, security and compliance of the business services impacted.
* Sets the release policy for the organisation in the context of both development and production/operations. Ensures that management processes, tools, techniques and personnel are in place to ensure that the transition of services, service components and packages are planned and compliant and that test and validation and configuration management are partnered in all release and deployment activities. Provides authorisation for critical release activity and point of escalation.
The scope of the Implementation Manager role includes but is not limited to the following:
* Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work, including technical, financial and quality aspects. Establishes engagement objectives and delegates responsibilities. Is accountable for actions and decisions taken by self and subordinates.
