We are looking to recruit a ILS Manager to join a global provider of IT products and services, Digital Transformation Projects and Business Solutions.

The role of the ILS Manager will involve working with Customers, Service Mangers and Engineering Teams to obtain an understanding of the products and solutions developed for the projects in order to understand the ILS requirements and produce the necessary supporting documents. The role will also require the support and contribution of the ILS elements of bid submissions for future contracts.

We are looking for an experienced ILS Manager to be part of a growing team of engineers. They should be very familiar with Defence Standard 00-600, the Defence Logistics Framework and their application to projects. You will have a fundamental understanding of all elements and be able to provide them independently if required.

The organisation has a well-established ILS team and processes in place that are applied to their contracts. The role will require working at the organisation's site in Basingstoke with regular visits to Customer sites (subject to Covid restrictions). The projects are generally IT systems with the usual server/data centre equipment and transportable systems, the candidate should be familiar with common IT equipment usage, maintenance and configurations.

The candidate must provide evidence of their ability to deliver ILS aspects of projects and managing small teams. You should have a broad-based engineering background with at least a familiarity of common IT equipment.

Your experience

The key skills required for this role are:

  • Good communicator, able to engage and influence internal and external customers at a senior level

  • Provide domain expertise and chair meetings

  • Influence the design of solutions during development, ensuring the ability to undertake support at the appropriate level

  • Detailed Understanding of 00-600 and develop and implement support solutions

  • Good understanding of the Defence Logistics Framework and other ILS associated Defence Standards and publications.

  • Good MS Office Skills (Word, Presentations Excel)

  • Analyse the support needs, and ensure all ILS elements are defined, developed and available to meet the projected need.

  • Ability to prioritise and react quickly to changing business needs.

  • Experience of contributing to and writing of Bid submissions, would be desirable.

  • Commercial and business acumen

  • We require applicants to hold current SC clearance

The role is permanent and available to start from February 2020.
