Job Title: I2C SME Interface Controls
Location: Bristol/London
Duration: 6 months
This role will be deemed inside IR35

The role is a business role requiring business data integration experience within the clients global Finance and Procurement transformation programme. The role holder will work within the data tower, the process towers and work with the reconciliation and mapping leads as well as the business process teams of the clients finance transformation. The role holder will be working as part of a multidisciplinary programme team (process, data, org design, systems, change and communications) which is implementing a simplified and standardised landscape across the Group Finance function.

The role is important because the clients legacy platforms and subledgers employ multiple layers of transactional data processing across an ageing, primarily oracle systems estate. The programme replaces a large part of the clients old Finance systems across the Group. This transformation includes the implementation of an SAP/Hana platform. In order to move from their old systems to new, they need a standard approach to subledger accounting and reporting and a sizeable data conversion.

To ensure we map our converted data correctly into the new chart of accounts and information model, we require a Subject Matter Expert to do the hands-on validation of replacing the old transactional processing engine. The key purpose of the role is to validate that we have taken into account, all current transaction processing mappings into the new systems.

The scope of the role is to ensure that the current transformation processing logic is understood in an S4/Hana context and that current technical and business rules are validated into the new systems and processes and converted or standardised as appropriate.
This is a hands-on role where the role holder will have to be able to understand and translate technical solutions in a business and data process context. They will be seen as the expert.
Prior experience in a finance system or data role is a must.
You will be part of a small team focussed on replacing the legacy processes and migrating data, you will need to develop business partnerships with key stakeholders in the programme to ensure delivery is the priority, and to drive standardisation where possible.

You need to have strong data, process, and technical skills alongside, project delivery, and communication skills:

  • Technical skills to understand solution specifications and how transactional processing is taking place today.
  • Data mapping and legacy process transformation skills.
  • The ability to simplify complex data problems for a business audience.
  • Management of Microsoft Project plans, use of excel, production of PPT slide presentations, reports.
  • Working across multiple platforms and data conversion sources and objects.

* Project management experience.
