Head of Search

Due to the continuing growth of our SEO & Paid Media Department, we are looking for a Head of Search that will be able to lead our SEO and Paid Media team. We are looking for someone with the experience and determination to oversee work that will be delivering the best Search marketing service to our clients as well as handling around 10 accounts across various sectors. You must be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of online marketing techniques and strategies with broad PPC, technical SEO and digital analytics expertise.

An important part of the role is related to creating and nurturing relationships with clients, you will need to be a confident individual with the ability to interact well with others on both a personal and professional level and to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing Technical SEO, Paid Media (PPC & Paid Social) and Content and setting the strategic direction for the department, to ensure that we are continuously improving how we can meet the demands of our clients.
  • Investigating and working with the latest SEO software.
  • Confident crafting on-site and off-site optimisation strategies.
  • Communicating with potential and existing clients via phone, email and face to face meetings.
  • Working closely with clients to ensure a full understanding of their business, digital marketing needs and priorities.
  • Creating trusting relationships with clients by ensuring the client has visibility on our work and the related results/benefits as well as actively engaging.
  • Supporting our new business process, providing input into Search proposals, ensuring the best solution for clients.
  • Being involved in new business pitch meetings and possibly networking events to increase agency

exposure.

  • Ability to confidently forecast channel growth across PPC and SEO based in our suggested search

Initiatives

Management of the Search team

  • Developing the processes and systems to ensure the smooth delivery of service.
  • Ensuring the quality of our work remains high.
  • Being available to support the SEO and Paid Media team when needed.
  • Ensuring that the result of our work is meeting all expectations our clients might have and taking the appropriate action if not.
  • Identifying opportunities and methods to improve internal processes.
  • Overseeing the distribution of resources, within the team across the months. Scheduling planned activity such as audits, strategy, technical fixes but also handling and bespoke, ad hoc projects too.
  • Recruiting talent as we expend.
  • Oversee the training and development of the team.
  • Motivating, encouraging the team to be proactive with their accounts.
  • Promote teamwork within the team and with its members interactions across the wider agency.
  • Liaising with clients directly, whenever needed, such as pitching for additional services or when dealing with bi annual, annual reviews for clients.

Work attitude

  • Demonstrate good work ethic.* Demonstrate considerable SEO & PPC knowledge across Technical SEO, Paid Media Strategies and Content Marketing.
  • Focus on bringing enthusiasm to the office, along with working on having close partnerships with clients and delivering an outstanding service.

Experience Required

  • Excellent knowledge of SEO, including Technical and content.
  • Strong understanding a PPC best practices
  • Great organisational skills, able to manage themselves and the search team.
  • Agency experience - managing an SEO team.
  • Knowledge of Search tools, such as, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, SEO Monitor, Majestic, Ahrefs etc.
  • Knowledge of SEO plugins on Wordpress/Magento and other CMS systems.
  • Able to lead in developing our SEO services and client base.
  • Have strong client communication and management skills.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions, meet deadlines, prioritise work and efficiently delegate work to the SEO team.
