Job Title: Application Developer - Industry Packages
Location: Mainly remote, with an expectation of weekly/fortnightly meetings in London (contract base location is London)
Start Date: Early September 2024 (earlier start possible subject to approvals and PO)
End Date: 20th December 2024
Rate: Up to £560 per day
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Application Developer with experience in complex application migrations and cloud solutions, ideally within AWS environments. This role involves working with a leading organization to support critical projects, including migrations of Oracle/Postgres databases and implementing Esri ARC GIS Enterprise and SAFE FME solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of best practices in development, configuration, and security controls, and will collaborate effectively with team members and varied stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Implementation: Lead the design and execution of complex application migrations, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
- Cloud Solutions: Implement robust solutions within AWS, leveraging cloud-native technologies and services.
- Database Migrations: Work extensively on migrating Oracle/Postgres databases, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
- Esri ARC GIS Enterprise & SAFE FME: Utilize best practices in development and configuration, focusing on security controls and system efficiency.
- Collaboration: Engage with architects, developers, testers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive solution deployment and alignment with project goals.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex application migrations.
- Demonstrated expertise in AWS cloud solutions, including hands-on implementation experience.
- Extensive experience with Oracle/Postgres DB migrations.
- Strong background in Esri ARC GIS Enterprise and/or SAFE FME, particularly in development, configuration, and security controls.
Nice to Have:
- Proven teamwork and collaboration skills, with experience in building effective interpersonal relationships.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including architects, testers, and developers.
- Understanding of solution deployment and the ability to communicate requirements for interaction with the solution context.
- AWS cloud certification.
