Digital & Data Compliance Manager - London
The work location is London (can be fully remote).
The pay rate on offer is £500 - £600 per day.
The role is working for a large, multinational high-street retailer.
Key accountabilities and measures
- Work with the Digital and Data teams, providing advice and guidance on data protection standards, to support delivery of strategic initiatives impacting personal data
- Drafting local policies and procedures
- Acting as the local subject matter expert in data protection compliance; providing day-to-day support to the business, utilising the central Data Protection Team where required.
- Maintaining expert knowledge of current EU and UK data regulation and best practice data integrity and security practices.
- Ensure that data inventories and catalogue are accurate and up-to-date
- Ensure that personal data lifecycle management is undertaken with compliance in mind
- Document records of business processes that impact the processing of personal data]
- Undertaking privacy impact assessments; utilising existing tools and resources
- Serve as a liaison between Business, Functional areas & Technology for data compliance, identifying local systems impacting the processing of personal data
- Facilitate the resolution of issues and queries with personal data.
- Support & continually improve the compliance framework.
- Developing and delivering local data protection training modules for all colleagues
- Identifying higher risk roles within your business area and developing and delivering bespoke data protection training modules Creating and delivering data protection awareness communications and campaigns
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience delivering for large, digital-facing companies
- Has a passion for driving improved business performance through a data led approach and culture.
- Demonstrable experience of engaging, influencing and communicating to stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining a successful data compliance framework
- Strong knowledge of data protection legislation and regulation
- Data focused with an analytical mindset
- Strong knowledge of UK data protection regulatory regime
- Strong change or programme management experience
- Good working knowledge of systems and technology
- Good understanding of or experience with risk assessment methodology
- Good understanding of risk and the role of risk in privacy compliance
- Good knowledge of retail processes and services
Key skills
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Law, Computer Science or IT
- Has an innovative mind set and is adaptable and responsive to changing priorities
- Ability to manage complex situations and achieve positive outcomes
