Desktop Engineer - Installation Technician
Role Overview:
The Installation Technician is responsible for delivering desktop hardware installation services at customer sites or internal locations. This role requires basic technical skills to support the setup and configuration of IT equipment, ensuring a smooth and efficient deployment process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unbox, position, and install desktop hardware and peripherals at user workstations.
- Connect power, network, and peripheral cables as per installation guidelines.
- Perform basic power-on self-tests and verify hardware functionality.
- Initiate automated system builds and execute simple scripted post-login configurations.
- Ensure all installations meet quality and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of completed installations and report any issues.
- Follow site-specific procedures and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Work flexible or variable shift patterns as required by business needs.
Skills & Experience:
- Basic understanding of desktop hardware and peripheral setup.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Previous experience in IT deployment or installation roles is desirable but not essential.
Contract Details:
- £130 - £140 Per Day (Inside IR35)
- Onsite - Multiple UK Locations
- 12 Month Contract
