The position:

The client has determined business goals and targets that are to be delivered within their Marketing Department, to achieve these goals, they have developed an in-house media investment team. Peak performance is the key mindset for this position as the candidate will have to build marketing and communication strategies through exceptional media planning and activation. The role requires working collaboratively with external agencies and improving the direct media owner relationships as they are targeting to become the media partner of choice. Developing a team of expert marketing channel specialists.

In the role, the successful candidate will have the responsibility of planning and justifying the monthly and annual media campaign strategies across earned, paid and owned media. A versatile camping planner and owner of media across different channels, the Lead of Media Investment will be tasked with dictating what activity is actioned when and where, in order to drive maximum sales performance across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and run media campaign planning strategies spanning multiple different channels including Paid, Owned and Earned, to maximise sales
  • Rolling improvement of CPA and sales performance strategies
  • Using the internal insights team and audience segmentation with intelligence on audience reach, create best media planning campaigns
  • Owner of monthly cross channel media plans, timings when activity is to be deployed to drive sales performance
  • Ensure all planning decisions are channel agnostic. Utilise a range of traditional & new media channels or platforms to execute plans that balance short & long-term goals to push growth
  • Collaborate closely with the different channel managers to monitor individual channel strategies and their execution
  • Develop reports on camping performance end-to-end. Provide clear insights into the campaigns and see how they can be amended to directly shape future campaigns
  • Collaborate with Head of Marketing, Chief Digital Officer and Head of Media Investment
  • Continually develop and enhance analytical standards with the internal insight team and external partners to constantly improve optimisation capability to deliver better performance from our media investment
  • Identify and develop brand safety and compliance principles and ensure these are executed across channel teams with an emphasis on pushing boundaries (compliantly) to drive sales performance
  • Manage media agency relationships maintaining quality of service on contractual obligations are delivered


  • Experience in a media agency, similar marketing role or media sales
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Additional qualifications in marketing business or media would be a plus
  • Recognition from industry award for media planning
  • Planning in international markets would be a plus
  • Experience in managing senior stakeholders
  • Results driven mentality with an attention to detail
  • Attention to detail to uncover insights and implications
  • Experience with multi-channel media. Executing campaigns across bought, owned, and earned strategies
  • Proven experience of executing econometric modelling and insights tailored to make recommendations that inform Media Planning and Marketing Strategy
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
  • Deep understanding of data with the ability to link inputs to produce actionable insights
  • Occasionally attend senior management meetings
