ROLE: DATA ARCHITECT
LOCATION: LONDON ( FULLY REMOTE with 1 TO 2 DAYS A MONTH IN OFFICE)
SALARY: £85K to £96K

ROLE:
Responsible for ensuring the digital products are underpinned by a robust data architecture. The role will include ensuring all enterprise products across operational and research aspects of business systems are supported by a clear and maintained data architecture.
The data architect will own and maintain data flows, data dictionaries and data models. The data architect will also own the enterprise information architecture and will ensure that this is modelled within the enterprise architecture tooling.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- By understanding the data requirements - identify the stakeholders, helping to analyse the requirements, and extracting those of architectural significance
- Formulating the data design -the various requirements, balancing the goals and constraints on the solution
- Communicating the data architecture- making sure everyone understands the architecture. Different people have different viewpoints, so the architect has to present various views of the system appropriate to different audiences
- Supporting the developers - making sure the developers can realise the data architecture, by a combination of mentoring and direct involvement
- Verifying the implementation - ensuring the delivered systems is consistent with the agreed architecture and will meet the requirements
- Ensuring that architecture data standards are defined and applied to ensure compliance. This includes Medical Device Accreditation (where relevant)
- Ensuring that squads have available a set of standard patterns, guidance, and technical standards to help them deliver
- Ensuring solutions are documented and assured through defined architecture governance processes
- Develop data architectures. Ensuring solutions have considered data flows, data lifecycle, data security, durability , and apply consistent documentation standards and architecture methods
- Develop and own the data model and design for our services
- Ensuring data is managed throughout its lifecycle. Ensure we have a clear understanding of what data we store, reference data is management, we use appropriate reference data standards
- Ensure the company design our data management systems and databases using the optimal technology for the use case
- Ensure that solutions handle data in a legal way compliant with our IG policy
- Understand the impact of emerging trends on the organisation in data tools, analysis techniques and data usage
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge in database technologies adopted by the company including AWS native services, AWS Aurora, Neptune, OpenSearch, Redshift, Dynamo, Document DB, MongoDb, Hbase / Solar
- Experience of architecting, building, and delivering modern data platforms
- Familiar with TOGAF and other enterprise architecture frameworks
- Experience and knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data cataloguing
- Knowledge of master, metadata and reference data management
- An understanding of Agile working practices and sprint based methodology
- Capable of actively contributing to knowledge sharing in the Data Chapter
- Healthcare experience is useful
