The location of the role is London / remote.

The duration of the contract is 6 months.

The pay rate on offer is £450 - £500 per day.

The client is a large, multinational high-street retailer.

Job Summary

Collaborating with a team of analysts, data scientists and product managers you will conduct full analytical delivery, to include requirements gathering, design and development resulting in the implementation of analytical solutions and capabilities that drive insight and benefit.

Key accountabilities:

  • Interpreting data and analysing results using advanced statistical techniques.
  • Work alongside Product Managers to conduct exploratory analysis on datasets to inform product development.
  • Work closely with Data Scientists to design and develop experiments and trials.
  • Perform trial analysis to measure and track performance, determine benefit, and inform future direction.
  • Work alongside data engineers to automate data flows, data validation, build monitoring systems to detect data anomalies.
  • Develop and prepare insight for stakeholders to monitor performance, as well as presenting and illustrating findings to ensure key learnings are understood.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to fully understand requirements and provide collaborative solutions based on a commercial and analytical understanding.

Key skills and experience:

  • Retail or FMCG industry experience is preferred
  • Exceptional problem solving, analytical and numerical skills.
  • Expert level knowledge of advanced data mining and statistical modelling (Regression, Classification, etc.)
  • Demonstrable programming ability in languages such as Python, R etc.
  • Advanced SQL capability and experience working with large data sets.
  • Strong data visualisation skills, knowledge of Power BI would be beneficial.
  • Exposure to multiple data environments and tools such as Impala, Databricks, Azure Synapse, etc.
  • The ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience in performing A/B testing.
  • An ability to manage time effectively, work using own initiative and accommodate shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to present confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work in a team or as individual.
  • Working knowledge of a Retail or FMCG operation.
