Costing Specialist - Products and Proposals

12 Month Contract
Pay: up to £40/h via Umbrella
An internationally leading manufacturing company are looking for a Costing Specialist for Products and Proposals. The role will build and own cost models for product portfolios and support proposals for a given portfolio. A critical role in a cost focused Commercial organisation driving competitiveness into key Products & Proposals.
The role reports to the Subsea Production Systems Global Commercial Costing Leader and offers a fantastic pathway into more senior and wider positions with the Business Controls and Commercial teams.
Responsibilities:
Owns Product costing data for assigned Product Portfolio
Build costed Models to support Proposals
Work with a cross functional team to challenge cost base and build cost certainty
Embed lessons learned from execution teams into costed systems
Develop Product benchmarking reports for Products and Portfolios
Drive the cost competitiveness objectives with the Product Management team.
Establish a standard costing operating rhythm for high volume structured products.
Identify Proposal Specific cost risks for given portfolio.
Qualifications & skills required:
Background in cost estimation/Cost engineering advantageous.
Background in Project Management/cost estimation/Planning and other project execution skills.
Relevant experience in project management, project cost estimating or cost controlling with Industrial business environment
Analytically strong in cost estimating, risk assessment and reporting.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and meticulous
Possess good project background and technical writing ability and skills.
Mature, proactive, resourceful and hands-on with good initiative.
Proven leadership capability and management skills, written, spoken communication skills.
