About the role
Here at Babcock International, we are looking for a Category Lead to join us.
As Category Lead you will have responsibility for a spend profile of between £30 - £50M across various categories of spend.
Your role is to segregate that spend and target the areas where we can gain maximum value. Using analytics, you will create & deliver procurement strategies for the categories you are responsible for ensuring all relevant stakeholders are engaged throughout the process.
We are currently developing a new operating model which means that initially, you will focus within HMNB Clyde however, going forward, responsibilities may broaden into a Business wide position with associated additional spend responsibilities.
What do I need to do the role?
You must be Qualified to Degree Level or equivalent and hold MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification.
You must have proven end to end Category Management experience, ideally within a defence or engineering environment. A proven track record of identifying and delivering significant value. Have proven strategic SRM experience at board Level and have a strong commercial acumen.
What else do I need to know?
We support agile working and this role offers working at times from a remote location (home, or somewhere else suitable) and attending site as required.
