Role Title: Business Analyst
Duration: contract to run until 31/12/2026
Location: Knutsford, hybrid 2 days per week onsite
Rate: up to £368 p/d Umbrella inside IR35
Role purpose / summary
- Support senior analysts in conducting business, functional, and data analysis across the client's workstreams.
- Assist in gathering and documenting business and data requirements by working with SMEs, product owners, and technical teams.
- Help analyse basic data flows, lineage, and data quality issues under guidance.
- Contribute to data mapping activities and support defining simple transformation rules.
- Perform preliminary impact assessments for system or data changes.
- Work closely with Architecture, Engineering, and Controls teams to support client data governance activities.
- Maintain documentation using JIRA and Confluence, ensuring requirements and user stories are updated accurately.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies as part of the delivery team.
- Support testing phases by preparing test cases and validating basic data output.
Required Skills & Experience
- Mandatory: Experience working within the client as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
Basic understanding of:
- Client systems and data flows
- Governance and control expectations
- Key operational processes within the client
Foundational skills in:
- Data analysis & requirement gathering
- Understanding data models and data quality concepts
- Good knowledge of banking concepts in at least one of the following:
- Payments
- Customer & Product Data
- Risk / Finance (optional)
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Agile ways of working.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
