BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ENGINEER
OVERVIEW:
Our client is a global healthcare company, also becoming the leading company of it's specialism in the UK. Through tremendous growth they are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer as they bring data visualisation back in house in the UK.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Collects, analyse and shares data to help business teams drive improvement in key business metrics, customer experience, and business results.
  • Utilizes database and reporting technologies to design, develop, and evaluate innovative business intelligence tools and automated reports.
  • Designs, develops and tests BI solutions such as databases, data warehouses, queries and views, reports, and dashboards.
  • Performs data conversions, imports, and exports of data within and between internal and external software systems.
  • Integrates BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications.
  • Enhances the performance of business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and index.
  • Documents new and existing models, solutions, and implementations.
  • Contribute to the appropriate Agile ceremonies.
  • Translate business needs to technical specifications
  • Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)
  • Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. MicroStrategy)
  • Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)
  • Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
  • Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
  • Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
  • Analyze existing reports and optimize them for standardization across the company.
  • Develop and update technical documentation


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience working as a BI Developer
  • Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
  • Understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
  • Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI,DAX)
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL and data manipulation languages
  • Knowledge of the Azure Data Factory
  • Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
  • Experience in agile methodologies desired; including: SCRUM; Kanban; etc.
