The work location is in Paddington, London and is a 5 month contract.

The pay rate on offer is £13 per hour.


The role is working for a large multinational retail client.

This role sits within the Beauty team and works closely with technologists.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute as an active member of the team to work within a commercially focused culture and support the departmental technologist where required
  • Support central technology teams with PLM management for tech packs
  • Be aware of the development process for blocks and patterns
  • Aware of critical path management and assist with pre work for work meeting using PLM dashboard.
  • Be aware of the approve process and support departmental technologist to upload development comments to PLM
  • Be aware of cost engineering at development stage to ensure all products are optimised commercially whilst still meeting the client's standards
  • Be aware of the raw material strategy and performance requirements
  • Maintain awareness of competitor offer through quarterly comp shop, assessing and reporting on technical construction, and customer communication. Prepare relevant reports ahead of strategy.
  • Support the departmental technologist in attributing innovation
  • Support the departmental technologist in attributing Plan A
  • Support the departmental technologist with information on product safety, compliance and ethical standards in line with legislation and corporate policy
  • Provide accurate RTM and customer feedback reporting
  • Communicate quality information to Buying Units, Sourcing Offices and key suppliers
  • Support technologists with daily PLM housekeeping and uploads. Responsible for uploading fit comments, colour coding risk assessment attribution, Plan A & innovation attribution in line with critical path. Supporting central fabric team with PLM library submissions uploading electronic technical submission when adding fabrics to the PLM Library.

Key experience and skills

  • Role is well suited to a graduate with some Beauty technology knowledge (either study or industry experience)
  • Basic understanding of Product or Beauty technology
  • Computer literate
  • Good organisational skills and an eye for detail
  • Multitask orientated with the ability to work to deadlines to achieve the Buying critical path
  • Ability to embrace change and strive to embed new process and ways of working.
