An opportunity is available for an experienced Application Developer to join a large scale, long running delivery programme supporting critical business applications. The Application Developer will work within a mature enterprise environment that integrates software and infrastructure across a large data centre and thousands of end points. This is a senior Application Developer role requiring strong Java expertise, design capability, and confidence working independently.
The Role of Application Developer
As an Application Developer, you will design, develop, test, and support Java based business applications.
You will provide fourth line application support, including root cause analysis of live incidents and defects.
You will assess and implement changes raised through formal change proposals.
You will maintain and review HLD, LLD, and component test documentation.
You will carry out code reviews and mentor other developers, including offshore teams.
You will support test, pilot, migration, and rollout activities across ongoing projects.
Skills and Experience for Application Developer
Three to four years minimum Java development experience.
Strong experience with Maven, XML, SQL, and Java IDEs such as Eclipse.
Experience with version control systems such as Subversion.
Ability to work on large and complex code bases.
Strong communication skills with technical and non technical stakeholders.
Experience with Linux, scripting, Atlassian tools, or modelling tools is beneficial.
