Job Title: 3D Designer
Duration: 4 months with the view to extend (depending on the clients needs)
Location: 100% Remote with the option of international travel
Rate: £400 - £600 per day
PAYE Only


We are looking for a talented 3D designer for a fixed-term contract to help our client craft and develop innovative solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with fast-paced development, enjoy problem-solving, have a stellar track record of delivering technical solutions and will love to learn and tackle new challenges.

This role will engage with every discipline including art, design, dev, test.

Requirements:

  • The candidate should be comfortable with cutting-edge technologies, as well as beta hardware and software and cloud-based solutions.
  • Creative thinking and excellent communication skills are a must. Confident and comfortable presenting ideas to customers and partners is a key part of this role.
  • Have a feedback and growth mindset attitude that enables them to constantly learn and improve.
    UX - Ability to map user journeys, scenarios and experiences with a user-first attitude. Storyboarding or Art skills a bonus.
  • Technical - an excellent understanding of Unity is essential, including shaders and C#.
  • Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine, a bonus.
  • Consultative - Creating, communicating, and translating the business needs of the customer. Understanding of how technology solves business problems for our customers.
  • People - Comfortable in a fast-paced start-up type studio environment.
  • Supportive, considerate and collaborative with colleagues from all backgrounds and levels of expertise.
  • Spatial - Understanding of spatial design: architecture, space layout, level design, lighting or interior design for digital or the real world.
  • Art Direction - Can rapidly iterate and vet potential art styles (motion, typography, colour, human factors) and visualize proposals for the proof of concept.
  • Must have shipped or completed a medium-sized commercial project within VR/AR/XR.
  • Past examples of rapid prototyping user interfaces with limited engineering support.
  • User-Centric - Have a robust portfolio illustrating creativity and proficiency of user-centric designs.
  • Delivered projects to a high level of polish.



Responsibilities:

  • Workshop to identify opportunities for Mixed Reality with customers and define a solution based on user and customer insights.
  • Design specifications and refinement in collaboration with customers, including visual design, wireframing, storyboarding, motion studies, interaction design, and front-end development.
  • Development of proof-of-concept prototypes that enable the core functionality of the solution for HoloLens and/or VR (Unity 3D).
  • Collaborate across Realities Studio, as well as with other teams.
