I have a number of contract positions open for Windows Engineers withWindows 10 desktop and good scripting experience in windows bash and powershell, to come on-board and work for a reputable financial client. This will be an initial 6 month contract position , Location Knutsford with Competitive rates on offer
Key skills:
Expertwindows 10 desktop engineer (deployment (imagex, dism), configuration (active directory, group policies), security, etc)
Good scripting experience in windows bash and powershell
Working knowledge of C++ or C#
Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation of tasks, reporting and deployment
Good understanding of Active Directory/DHCP/DNS/Group Policy
Good knowledge of Continuous Integration, Automated Deployment or configuration management
Understanding of LAN/WAN/VLAN, TCP/IP, UDP
Hands-on experience in writing Windows Batch/VBS/PS scripts,
Working knowledge of source code repositories (SVN, GIT)
Working knowledge of automation tools (Jenkins, Chef, etc)
Responsibilities:
- Researching, designing, implementing and managing windows 10 based solutions
- Testing and evaluating new solutions
- Identifying areas for modification in existing solutions and subsequently developing these modifications
- Writing and implementing efficient scripts
- Determining operational practicality
- Developing quality assurance procedures
- Deploying tools, processes and metrics
- Maintaining and upgrading existing systems
- Working closely with developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on C++/C# experience,
- Experience in writing unit tests and automated test scripts,
- Understating of software engineering principles (OOP, TDD, etc),
- Degree in relevant software engineering discipline,
- Awareness of leading-edge tools, techniques and services within IT,
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, e.g. Agile, Scrum, Lean, CI
