Role Description:
The Test Analyst will report to the Business Owner for the MREL Database solution. The role holder will be expected to liaise with multiple functions and teams across the MREL Project to test defect fixes, changes and enhancements across MREL capabilities to ensure that they are fit for purpose and meet business requirements.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with multiple teams to set the strategy and direction for the MREL testing function and coordinate and implement workstream and programme testing initiatives;
  • Supporting the MREL Business Owner and liaising with the MREL Project team, Finance IT and business stakeholders to test MREL Database defect fixes, changes and enhancements in line with business requirements;
  • Developing and retaining an understanding of business and system requirements in order to enable appropriate support and guidance to be provided to IT stakeholders;
  • Ensuring the timely delivery of testing activities, providing management with visibility of both forward-looking and present delivery issues;
  • Validating and triaging defects when they are raised, confirming their business priority in relation to the backlog and supporting the development team and business stakeholders with reaching agreement on appropriate resolution options;
  • Contributing to key testing deliverables, including Test Strategy documents and Test Exit Reports, risk assessments, scripting and execution, and ensuring that these are completed to an appropriate standard;
  • Working with the MREL Test Manager to set up work practices, implementing standards and quality-monitoring during development, implementation and daily use;
  • Contributing to comprehensive post-testing reviews, assessing performance/efficiency, making recommendations and managing their implementation; and
  • Demonstrating and applying business domain knowledge.


Required knowledge and experience:

  • Experience working on major projects as part of a cross-functional team
  • Experience with testing and defect remediation initiatives
  • ISTQB Foundation Certificate in software testing
  • An understanding of Release procedures (using Agile delivery methodology)
  • Data analysis skills (Qliksense, SQL, Excel, reporting tools)
  • Experience/knowledge of ETLs
  • Knowledge of the wider regulatory context and trends in financial services [preferred]
  • Understanding of Treasury concepts applicable to financial institutions [preferred]
  • Experience working on regulatory programmes [preferred]

  • An effective and assured communicator, able to break down 'technical' language for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, able to manipulate data and present analysis for consumption by senior management
  • Capable of producing high-quality documentation
