Solutions Architect (SC Cleared)

Our Central Government client are recruiting a Security Cleared Solutions Architect.

You will be working as part of the distributed central client team containing a mixture or architecture, data and delivery resources. The Solution Architect will replace an existing external resource working client side as soon as they are on-board though a period of dual running is expected to allow for a smooth handover. You will be joining the project in flight around the same time as the mobilisation of large numbers of delivery resources. You will inherit a high level approved enterprise solution design which suppliers will dock into and deliver against.

You will likely participate in some engagements with government and law enforcement as well as the private sector in relation to your work.

The Role

  • You will augment the existing project team of Enterprise Architect, DevSecOps Architect, UX Designer, Project Manager, Ways of Working Coach, Product Owner, Digital Delivery Lead, Project Business Analysts and the Project Security Consultant

  • Deliver strategies, roadmaps, blueprints and design patterns for the IT Transformation project for implementation at Official Sensitive in the client's Azure architecture.

  • Liaise with the Enterprise Design Authority to ensure that solution elements and technical architectures conform to defined architectural principles and practices.

  • Oversee suppliers detailed technical architecture including management, compute, storage, networking, application, data accounting, audit, security and reporting.

  • Represent the IT Transformation Project as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in relation to particular aspects of the architecture and its interaction and integration with other project elements and wider programmes and projects;

  • Solution Architect to support activities to confirm the Cloud Platform is ready for the new cloud native solution design.

  • Solution Architect to support activities to evidence readiness of Cloud environment and ALM tooling for DevSecOps, and test deployment of all required PaaS services into all environments (non-live and live).

  • Solution Architect to support activities to establish Azure AD setup across all environments (non-live and live).

  • Solution Architect to support Ways of Working Coach in activities to define delivery and cloud teams, including onboarding and support processes, and division of responsibilities.

  • Solution Architect to support activities to establish an Agile governance structure across supporting services (architecture, security, business change, change management).

  • Solution Architect to support Enterprise Architect and Business Change activities to engage with partner organisations to agree the data model and initial Data Ingest schema.

  • Technical design documentation

  • Strong experience of working with the business, relating technical concepts to non-technical user groups

  • Legacy -> Cloud application transformation

  • Cloud infrastructure and operations

  • Cloud network security

  • Agile technology delivery experience

  • Security accreditation processes

  • Cloud data migration approaches

  • Analytics / BI

  • Functional requirements analysis

  • Service delivery / service introduction experience

  • Demonstrable experience in working with teams and/or suppliers in agile delivery across all phases of service development through to business as usual

  • Demonstrable experience of influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including senior officials, customers and suppliers.

  • Ability to mentor and coach less experienced technical colleagues.

  • Anti-money Laundering / KYC expertise.

  • Knowledge and understanding of government information security standards including privacy legislation e.g. MOPI.

  • Any other Financial services data architecture experience.

  • Microsoft CosmosDB experience.

  • Experience working in a "just enough architecture" environment.

  • Experience in the management of ICT staff including technical specialists, external contracts and consultants.

  • Demonstrable experience of working within organisations during their transition from Waterfall to Agile.

  • Managing and releasing production applications into Microsoft Azure.

  • The ability to manage internal or external suppliers to ensure successful delivery of products and services required by the business.

  • Expertise in Agile delivery and Waterfall and organisations transitioning to Agile.

  • Experience of working in blended, multi-discipline, multi-vendor team Environments.

  • Experience of complex governance in a large organisation.

  • Ability to engage and influence at senior levels.

  • Knowledge and understanding of government information security standards.

  • Experience working in a "just enough architecture" environment.

  • Demonstrable experience in working with teams and/or suppliers using Agile and waterfall in all phases of service development.

  • An understanding of the Law enforcement landscape.

  • Have experience of working with Microsoft Azure technologies and tools.

  • Have experience working on migration between on-premise and Cloud.
