Our client, a market leading Financial Institution are looking for a Technical Delivery Manager, to join them on a customer-based project based in Canary Wharf (3 days in the office). The assignment is an initial 6-month contract and can offer a competitive daily rate via Umbrella

Overview

The role involves supporting the Programme Lead the Citadel programme for Clients D&A Platform by providing delivery expertise.

The D&A Platform is a transformational programme to move the D&A division from a suite of products to a platform that provides an improved customer centric experience for our customers.

The programme is already underway but needs more focus to deliver the business value it promises in a tractable timeframe.

The role will involve:

  • Working closely with the overall Program team to shape and drive the Platform
  • Shape, drive and direct delivery of program with multiple workstreams and stakeholders
  • Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria
  • Work with to maintain and evolve the integrated project plans, and related project management, ensuring all requirements and objectives are met
  • Manage detailed plans across the critical path to delivery of program objectives, engaging with stakeholders and critically assessing requirements
  • Anticipate issues and delays, and evaluate trade-offs between program size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value, effectively assessing and resolving high priority project risks.
  • Define and report on project progress and achievement of program milestones, regularly updating key and senior stakeholders on project status.
  • Continually manage program dependencies, ensuring smooth and timely delivery of the key milestones
  • Validate financial forecasts and provide on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures
  • Provide delivery leadership matrixed project teams, including Technology, throughout program lifecycles
  • Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of the program
  • Assess and resolve all high priority program risks as they are encountered
  • Continually update relevant business stakeholders of program status and periodically publish program status reports
  • Represent the program in various project governance and inter-department forums
  • Define and track program milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall and integrated delivery plan
  • Ensure end results are of the highest calibre with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit
  • Responsible for facilitating and chairing regular program meetings, and follow-up with team members as required.
  • Preparation, collation, and distribution of program status reports, ad hoc presentations, and reporting (including executive and senior management reporting).
  • Ensure governance procedures are adhered to, for example, all program artefacts maintained throughout the program lifecycle (plans, resourcing profiles, cost plans, benefits schedules, RAID items, Change Requests, and status reports) are up to date, accurate and follow group quality standards.
  • Adhere to the Group planning standards and process to ensure transparency on key deliverables and dependencies so that delivery can be tied to cost
  • Formulate data-driven insights to support negotiations and effectively persuade diverse stakeholders, driving alignment towards shared objectives.
  • Proactively and effectively manage diverse stakeholder groups across the program lifecycle, successfully differentiating the approach and communications to address stakeholder needs.
  • Maintain collaborative and trusting relationships with stakeholders, effectively overcoming challenges and positioning alternatives to move the project forward.

Required skills and experience

  • Proven experience of "making order out of chaos" - taking visions and concepts and creating structures, plans and processes to deliver them
  • Superior stakeholder management skills - the ability the work with senior level stakeholders from across the client, providing thought leadership and "big picture" thinking as well as clarity around detailed execution.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and ambiguous environment and deliver results.
  • Significant experience delivering structured change projects
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the proven ability to work effectively with all organisational levels
  • Willing and able to challenge customers and stakeholders to better understand their needs
  • Excellent documentation and written communication skills; ability to create high quality steering committee materials
  • Global experience preferred- working successfully with teams in multiple locations simultaneously
  • Background in working across both business and IT related projects
  • Strong knowledge of technology estates and technologies desirable
  • Experience on projects delivering Identity & Access Management Solutions
  • Experience with web application development with a background on Cloud
  • Understanding and experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
