Senior Treasury Finance Reporting Manager

£425 per day

Role synopsis This position reports to the Head of Finance, Treasury and is key leadership position within Treasury Finance. Treasury Finance team forms part of the Chief Accounting Officer team in Group Finance.

With $60bn of external debt, $20bn cash, $1bn derivative balance sheet and $70bn interco loan activity, this is a key reporting area for the Group and the role has significant senior management interaction.

The successful applicant will gain exposure to a wide range of accounting, reporting and control processes, network with a variety of Treasury and other Finance teams and offers an insight into the Group's accounting, reporting and control processes. The role-holder directly manages a team of 3 technical accountants and coordinates across a network of Treasury and business finance teams (c30 people) and engages with external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead over-arching accounting policy guidance to the wider Treasury and Treasury Finance teams

  • Lead Treasury Group Reporting: submission to FBW and overseeing high level cross-team timetable.

  • Manage SoX, Quarterly Due Diligence process, BSI review and auditor engagement.

  • Manage and communicate risks identified through the Treasury Finance internal control framework. Lead monitoring activities for key risk areas.

  • Lead Group Reporting input by Treasury Finance team to Treasury's SFN documentation to ensure that accounting impacts are clearly captured.

  • Lead identification and delivery of improvement and efficiency opportunities across Treasury reporting and control activities and engage pro-actively with relevant cross-functional projects and initiatives

  • Ownership, on-going development & day-to-day management of Accounting, Reporting, Control & Assurance operations for New Ventures (the standalone sanctions compliant treasury operation for the Group)

  • Lead & develop capability of the Treasury Reporting and wider Treasury Finance teams.

  • Act as Treasury Finance business continuity lead, ensuring robust and well-understood business continuity plan is in place

Education

  • Qualified accountant with significant accounting policy and control expertise and the ability to apply this with integrity and rigour.

  • Demonstrated experience of IFRS accounting treatments for financial instruments and hedge accounting

Essential experience and job requirements

  • Existing leadership experience in managing both direct teams, managing projects and geographically dispersed networks

  • Successful track record in financial reporting, accounting policy & process development

  • Builds and maintains key relationships with a variety of stakeholders - this includes the broader Finance group within and Treasury teams, fostering effective collaboration and teamwork. This will involve co-ordination of a variety of teams and banking service providers, setting clear direction, priorities and boundaries in support of treasury finance's overall objectives.

  • The incumbent should expect to become a respected business partner who supports the Head of Finance and leadership of Treasury in managing business performance and driving continuous improvement. This requires the confidence to challenge the existing way of doing things and to act as an agent for change.

  • Experience of operating in a large matrix organisation required and must be able to quickly understand technical and strategic context

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and a dynamic workload with a strong track record of delivery

  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to manage a large agenda.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to understand and distil key messages in a clear fashion.

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and teamwork skills

Desirable criteria & qualifications

  • Wallstreet, SAP transactional and FBW (SAP BW) experience beneficial

  • Chartered Acountancy qualification preferred

  • AMCT qualification preferred
