We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong Python coding and desirably C++. You must have a strong engineering and automation background and a strong understanding of testing principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute automated test scripts for both functional and non-functional testing, including performance, security, and resource consumption, utilising appropriate frameworks and tools.
  • Partner with developers to encourage unit testing best practices and assist them in creating testable code.
  • Evaluate current testing practices, identify automation opportunities, and transition manual tests to automated solutions.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and formulate effective testing infrastructure and tooling.
  • Provide developers with feedback on code testability and suggest enhancements to overall code quality.
  • Advocate for test automation and shift-left testing across our client, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among teams.
  • Analyse test results, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Document test automation procedures and best practices for future references.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced team members.

Key Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience in software QA, with a particular emphasis on test automation for libraries and SDKs.
  • Passionate about software quality, promoting early testing, and shortening feedback cycles.
  • Proficient in testing low-level programming languages, ideally C++.
  • Demonstrate eagerness to learn, adapt, and evolve in a dynamic environment.
  • Substantial development/scripting experience in Python.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong understanding of unit testing principles.
  • Experienced working within a Scrum team, leading in-sprint test case development and conducting exploratory testing.
  • Proficient in test-driven development (TDD); familiarity with Robot Framework is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps principles, especially in the context of continuous delivery for software libraries.
  • Experienced in non-functional testing techniques.
  • Skilled in working with cloud environments, including building, deploying, and testing on these platforms.
  • Knowledgeable about CI/CD pipeline and their integration with automated testing processes.
