Role: Senior IT Support Engineer (SC)

Rate: £550 - £600 per day

Location: Hybrid - 2 times a week onsite near Bristol

Duration: 6 Months rolling

Start date: ASAP - 1 month

Experis are recruiting for a Senior IT Support Engineer (SC) for a central gov/defence client. This role will sit within the second line support team who provide senior level tech advice and IT support.

You'll be working alongside the 2nd Line Support Team to manage the delivery of IT services and support internal stakeholders. This includes the support and provision of Computers, Laptops, Software, User Administration, Meeting Room Equipment and infrastructure. You'll also provide Senior technical support of Applications and Services, manage escalated Incidents in order to manage successful outcomes in line with business needs (e.g. SLA targets). In addition, the Senior IT Support Engineer role requires you to support other members of the team with technical queries, be the technical lead on projects and major issues.

Key Skills/Experience

Essential:

  • Has practical experience in a Second line support environment, supporting Windows Operating Systems in a live environment
  • Have experience of leadership and staff development in a technical/support team environment). Experience of directing others to undertake tasks.
  • Expert technical experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Expert technical experience with MECM/SCCM or similar Systems Management Tools
  • Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops or with other Virtual Desktop Technologies
  • Experience in supporting Office365, OneDrive, Teams and Modern Web Browsers in a live environment.
  • Expert experience in supporting hardware, fault diagnosis and configuration.
  • Knowledge VPN's
  • Expert experience in software packaging for deployment (MSI, EXE, MSIX, App-V, PSADT)
  • Experience in PowerShell scripting

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience in using and administering Virtual Machines (Hyper-V, VMWare, etc)
  • Experience in supporting Audio Visual equipment including Video Conferencing and Surface Hubs
  • Experience in managing major projects i.e. software rollouts/ hardware refresh through to successful outcome
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
  • Experience within Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS
