Role: Senior Cable Design Engineer
Location: London (Hybrid) - overseas travel required
Duration: 12 Months
Day rate: Up to £800 inside IR35
Role Overview
You will be part of the Oceanbeat Inter Array Cable (IAC) package team. You shall:
- Provide cable engineering to Cable Work Package Manager: support development and execution of IAC package
- Have detailed cable design and electrical engineering understanding with keen awareness of the Transport and Installation (T&I) of the IAC
- Review and approve cable engineering documentation from suppliers: review technical documentation from cable suppliers / projects and ensure that technical deliverables meet project and contract requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks on the package: raise relevant risks to the package manager. Support review of project risks, provide mitigations and close out risk actions. Identify and manage technical interfaces between the packages and suppliers: proactively manage interfaces related to the cables package. Support interface meetings, working with other packages and contractors to bring interfaces into alignment
- Identify and raise Value Opportunities to the package manager. Support review of Value Opportunities, provide actions and deliver on their implementation.
- Develop and execute third party engineering work scopes: Write, tender and execute third party engineering scopes related to cable delivery.
- Follow management of change process: identify potential changes on the project, raise them to the package management and rigorously follow the management of change process.
- Collaborate with safety, consent and procurement teams to ensure robust execution of works.
- Collaborate with associated foundation, WTG, grid / transmission engineering, ground engineering / site investigation and construction disciplines to safely deliver IAC package and the project.
- Ensure safe and cost-efficient design and integrity management throughout asset life in accordance with bp and industry technical practices and standards.
- Maintain relationships with third party suppliers, contractors, and other partners.
- Actively contribute to technology development and share knowledge and findings.
