My client is one of the market leaders in transformation and risk who operate within the finical market. They are actively seeking an experienced and senior Java specialist who can not only provide technical support but who can effectively communicate and demonstrate leadership across global work channels. This role involves analysis, design, hands-on coding and unit testing of Java components to support the addition of new functionality and service improvements for the DSP product.
As a Principle Java Engineer you will…
- Lead requirements review to ensure they answer the business need and deliver expected functionality.
- Develop code following best practice design patterns. Review designs with peers while following company standard Agile and CI/CD processes, including:
- Work with cloud-based computing on AWS, access large data stores, process streams, data feed processing, data transformation, high performance data throughput and synchronization
- Strong object-oriented code design capability including an understanding of multi-threading and multi-processing in a high demand environment.
- Produce high quality, maintainable resilient software that performs at required levels in a 24 x7 data processing environment.
- Improving technical solutions to make them more stable and maintainable.
- Produce and implement automated testing and integrate with the CICD tools, GIT, Jenkins, Docker, etc
- Contribute to the writing of documentation and release notes in conformance with company standards.
- Helping 3rd line support team to analyze and resolve data and behavioral issues from clients.
- Support other programmers with development tasks.

What do we want from you?
- Java 8 developer with at least 4-6 years' experience with a focus on performance, multi-threading, and concurrency.
- Extensive experience and understanding of distributed systems, developing, profiling and maintaining multi-threaded/asynchronous applications.
- Knowledge of Java Spring Boot essential. Understanding of Spring Cloud, Jersey, AWS services like S3, Lambda, EC, etc a plus. CICD tool knowledge and AWS tools like Code Pipeline, Cloud Formation a plus.
- Understanding of OO concepts, JSON, XML, DOM/SAX Parsers, HADOOP, HBASE, AVRO, SQL, Jenkins, Maven, Docker is a plus
- Experience with UNIX shell scripting.
- Good knowledge of Oracle Database, knowledge of PL/SQL or SQL skills is a plus.
- Configuration of CI software for automated testing and deployment of code.
- Financial experience a plus with a good understanding of Equity and Derivatives Trading desirable
- Educational Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related Science or Engineering degree. Masters preferred.
