The Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to act as the product owner for the Power Platform working as part of the Microsoft Platform Team.
You will be involved in the development of advanced Power Platform applications and components that can be reused by the organisation and provide best practice applications and templates for the business to use. The role also includes providing direction and support to our outsourced Power Platform development team including the management of DevOps backlogs and ensuring that governance is followed for development in the Power Platform space. You will be an evangelist for both the Power Platform and Agile ways of working.
You will work with the wider Digital Team to identify and support resolution of risks and issues in delivery and escalate appropriately as well as providing technical input into the applications roadmap and identify and propose improvements to ways of working
You will also lead on implementation of agreed Development and Governance standards and drive collaboration as the lead for the Power Platform Centre of Excellence Team to influence and provide guidance to our existing governance forums.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Power Platform evangelist through the development and management of good governance and processes - including being able to provide examples of good practice for design, build, test and deployment of Power Platform solutions;
- You will be responsible for core Power Platform solution design, configuration and customisation able to propose solutions to meet business requirements across the business
- Responsible for the management and reporting on Power Platform solutions in Azure DevOps - including backlogs, capacity and sprint planning aligned to business priorities from our established governance forums
- Identify and coach Power Platform Specialists and Citizen Developers, in building their expertise in Power Platform development standards and best practice to support quality in delivery and ensure alignment to governance
- Manage the delivery of the backlog of PowerApp development across the business including management and coordination of builds within an Agile framework
- Responsible for ensuring the day-to-day delivery and support with our outsourced development team ensuring quality and consistency
- You will be aligned with the Microsoft Platform team to ensure that Power Platform, Azure and M365 technologies such as SharePoint and Teams can be exploited together to achieve results.
- Manage the CoE Toolkit and associated tooling to report, maintain, monitor and ensure that the platform is running efficiently and governance is being followed
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Power Platform. Experience in professional services businesses would be beneficial.
- Experience in working in an Agile development environment - experience with Azure DevOps or TFS would be beneficial
- Proven track record in the development of significant SharePoint and Power Platform solutions, including knowledge of the latest technologies, including DataVerse and Teams based PowerApps.
- Good understanding of the wider Microsoft Business Application suite (eg DataVerse, Power Pages, Dynamics Platform etc)
- Ability and proven track record to build relationships and alliances and communicate engage and influence in a matrix structure with multiple stakeholders within and outside the organisation.
- Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution and work effectively within a matrix organisation.
- Result driven, analytical and innovative individual with the ability to decipher business requirements and convert them effectively into new technology solutions.
