Network Engineer, Maintenance Ops
Barlborough, Chesterfield - full time on site
Rate - £125 per day UMBRELLA ONLY
Duration until 31/10/2025 - likely to extend
SC preferred, must be eligible.
Skills required
- Have the required skills and hold the relevant accreditations to repair and build kit on all BT portfolio and customer owned stock including HPI/HPE, Lenovo, Dell, Cisco and Draytek
- Ability to support their Team Leader and Line Manager through transformational changes.

- Perform any tasks deemed fit by the Maintenance Ops Stores and Workshop Team Leader and Maintenance Ops Manager
Accountabilities
- To carry out Workshop warranty and break fix repairs on all products supported by the company including laptops, desktops, switches, routers and printers
- Have a good understanding of networking technologies
- Installation of operating systems across a network Via SCCM, PXE, and also via USB
- Have a good working knowledge of SSH, Telnet and Putty to aid configuration of various equipment
- Ability to perform Bios / Firmware updates for various equipment and manufacturers
- Have a good working knowledge of Active Directory
- Have a good working knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10 to aid in configuration and troubleshooting
- Have a good working knowledge of encryption technologies such as Bitlocker and Mcafee Drive Encryption
- Liaising directly with other departments within the company, as requested, to ensure effective levels of communication are maintained.
- Develop close working relationship with peer groups, Service Desk, Field Engineering teams and other operational departments.
- Pro-active in maintaining good levels of morale through effective communication.
- A pro-active approach to resolving local issues within the team, escalating into the Maintenance Ops Stores and Workshop Team Leader and Maintenance Ops Manager where appropriate.
- Responsible for adhering to all BT H&S guidelines and escalating into the Maintenance Operations Manager where appropriate.
- Assist the Maintenance Ops Stores and Workshop Team Leader and Maintenance Ops Manager with Maintenance Ops CI.
- Requirement to attend any training courses appropriate to the role, on or off their normal place of work.
- Responding to requests and enquiries from other departments in a timely manner
- Monitoring the shipment to and from repair centres of Customer Property and BT assets.
- Raise and progress RMA repairs with Microsoft
