Job Purpose:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical and high-profile leadership role in the creation of a new integrated I&C business. Our Client are planning to move their customers onto new IT systems during 2021. The Migration Readiness Manager will be accountable for the successful delivery of all aspects of customer migration readiness.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead the migration readiness team to plan and deliver the migration activities including:

  • Management of a core project team of 10-15 people in addition to management of a 30+ team of temporary "bubble" resources

  • Responsible for the migration readiness project budget

  • Working closely with the IT Migration team and third party IT suppliers

  • Customer and TPI journey readiness including preparation and delivery of customer and TPI communications

  • Data cleansing and account preparation

  • Migration governance, controls and reporting including KPIs and success criteria

  • End system functionality requirements and user testing / acceptance

  • Working closely with support functions including finance, HR, regulations, legal and business subject matter experts to ensure readiness for the migration

  • Managing senior stakeholders and leading migration Steering meetings

  • Facilitate continuous improvement to ensure that learning through the migration period drives improvements in future aspects of the delivery

  • Oversee project governance including plans, action logs, risks, issues, decision logs, and project reporting

Scope of decision making:

  • Day to day project decisions on all aspects of customer migration with escalations as appropriate to Head of Transformation and Project Steering. Some decisions may have impacts on customers or commercial implications.

  • Recruitment of additional members of the project team including bubble resource within budget.

  • Signs off key project deliverables eg design documents, testing and implementation plans.

Role Dimensions

Direct Reports:

  • Up to 5 Workstream Leads will report into the Migration Readiness Manager

Facts & Figures:

  • May include budget/revenue responsibilities, key performance measures, size of projects, markets, products etc.

  • Management of team of up to 50 people including bubble resource

  • Some customers are very large, strategic customers with complex requirements and products.

Scope of influences:

Key internal & external stakeholders and the nature of the relationships. The Business Readiness Manager will have daily contact with:

  • IT migration team and third-party IT suppliers

  • TUK Senior Leadership team (includes Board level)

  • I&C Senior Leadership team

  • Support functions e.g. finance, legal, HR, regulations

  • Ensures the customer migration approach fits with the strategic requirements of the I&C business

Essential Requirements:

  • Programme management or business transformation / business readiness role in a large change programme including budget, resource and risk management

  • Experience working across multiple business teams and with third party IT suppliers

  • Experienced people manager; leading teams and decision making in a fast-moving project delivery environment with tight deadlines

  • Experience working in or with IT teams and with IT suppliers

  • Experience in influencing senior stakeholders including Board level

  • Broad knowledge of the change of supply process and the customer energy journeys (sales, products, customer service, industry flows, regulatory environment)

Desirable:

  • Experience in IT migration

  • Experience of process change and customer journey design

  • Knowledge of the I&C energy market

  • Leadership of a large team to deliver a successful complex IT customer migration to time and budget

  • Successfully engage senior stakeholders for rapid decision making

  • Build effective relationships with IT suppliers to drive delivery

  • Ability to act quickly and strongly when issues arise
