Description
Advanced knowledge of MySQL NDB Cluster, including replication between NDB clusters & managing clusters requiring 99.999% availability.
* Advanced knowledge of InnoDB Cluster/Group Replication, including MySQL Router & rolling (zero downtime) patching.
* Proven experience of performance tuning MySQL instances, optimizing OS configuration for MySQL, general schema design (appropriate indexing) & tuning SQL statements.
* Knowledge of MySQL performance monitoring via MySQL Enterprise Monitor, including SNMP traps for database availability monitoring.
* Proven experience in PostgreSQL, including replication (repmgr), rolling (zero downtime) patching and performance tuning.
* Proven experience in Microsoft SQL Server, including AoAG & database mirroring.
* Ability to develop and/or modify BASH & (ideally) Python scripts that perform database activities, e.g., database backups, gathering performance metrics.
* Experience of AWS, specifically running database technologies on EC2 instances.
* Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, CloudFormation).
