Role overview:
As a Content Designer, you will play a critical role in delivering accessible content that meets the user needs of our clients. To do this, you will use analytics and feedback to inform content decisions and will have exceptional communication skills to explain your work and influence stakeholders and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and improving content to meet user needs
- Using analytics, research, and feedback to inform content decisions
- Making complex information easy to understand
- Planning and scoping content requirements
- Developing and maintaining content standards
- Carrying out quality assurance of content and designs
- Collaborating with and supporting design colleagues in delivery
- Designing content to prescribed guidelines and accessibility standards
- Working and communicating effectively with stakeholders
- Advocating for content design best practise
Skills:
What we're looking for in a candidate:
- Several years writing content for end-to-end service and digital audiences
- Experience in writing content to meet user needs
- Knowledge of human-centred design and design thinking
- Experience of using analytics, research, and feedback to shape content
- A strong communicator who can explain content decisions and advocate for content design best practise to clients and internally
- Examples of creating written content for an end-to-end service
- Experience of leadership and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
- Previous content design experience in the public sector
- Knowledge of GOV.UK design standards
- Designing content to prescribed guidelines and accessibility standards
- Working and communicating effectively with stakeholders
- Advocating for content design best practise
