Functional Consultant - Finance & Tax

Responsibilities:
- As an individual contributor, own the Tax domain (processes, configuration, enhancements), working closely with the Finance lead to ensure the successful roll-out of SAP S/4 HANA to Italy, Germany, France, and Benelux.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to gather tax and finance-related local business requirements, ensuring alignment with local legal, fiscal, and statutory regulations.
- Configure and customize the SAP Finance module to meet specific business needs, including tax codes, rates, and reporting for the respective countries.
- Work on the integration with SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) and Materials Management (MM) modules to ensure all invoicing and procurement processes are tax-compliant, including statutory e-invoicing and e-tax submission requirements for the specific countries.
- Conduct end-to-end testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, to ensure the successful implementation of tax and finance processes.
- Provide guidance on tax process improvements, best practices, and assist in the development of training materials for end-users.
- Ensure a smooth transition to the new tax and finance processes by assisting with change management, key user training, and post-implementation support.
Experience / Qualifications Required:
- Proficiency in configuring the SAP Finance module, including tax determination, VAT/GST, and financial reporting for multi-country roll-outs.
- Demonstrated breadth of knowledge and solution delivery experience across the end-to-end tax process, acquired through multiple hands-on roles in global SAP implementations
- Experience with end-to-end implementation of SAP projects, from requirements gathering to post-implementation support, particularly in a global context.
- Experience in roll-out of a global template (localisation, configuration, testing, data migration, cutover, hypercare)
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations in Italy, Germany, France, and Benelux, with a specific focus on e-invoicing, SDI compliance, and integration with SD and MM.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving tax-related issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Capable of working effectively in large, complex cross functional teams, capable of building relationships across different stakeholders and functional groups
- Ability to work independently, meet project deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
