Business Intelligence & ICT Development Lead
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced ICT & Business Intelligence Development Lead to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing, maintaining, designing, and developing key business systems, including our Housing Management System and Business Intelligence systems. You will also provide essential user support and lead projects aimed at system upgrades and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Management: Take lead responsibility for the management and maintenance of critical systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to system changes, upgrades, and improvements, ensuring that all changes are implemented smoothly.
- Expert Guidance: Provide expert advice and guidance on business and information systems, serving as a key resource within the organization.
- SQL Database Administration: Oversee the technical functions of SQL database administration for on-premises Business Intelligence applications, ensuring optimal performance.
- Training & Support: Identify training needs and provide necessary support to system users, enhancing overall performance and system utilization.
- Collaboration: Foster strong relationships and communication channels between ICT, business units, and software suppliers to ensure seamless system integration and operation.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Detailed understanding of relevant legislation, concepts, and principles related to business intelligence and information systems.
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in implementing system changes and upgrades.
- Strong expertise in SQL database administration and business intelligence applications.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and external partners.

Personal Specification:
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following attributes:
- Qualifications:
- Educated to a degree standard or equivalent relevant experience in ICT, particularly with software applications, business systems, information systems, and SQL server development tools.
- Prince 2 foundation or equivalent project management experience.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of ICT technical experience, particularly in roles involving extensive use of business intelligence/information systems.
- Proven track record in managing and implementing systems, with experience in producing business intelligence system requirement documents.
- Significant experience in managing IT projects, including upgrades and development works, and in supporting end users to effectively utilize systems.
- Experience working with system administrators, trainers, 3rd party suppliers, and managing internal and external stakeholders.
- Expertise in using Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft SQL server management studio, BIDS, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, and SQL querying & programming.
- Training:
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience in facilitating and negotiating, with a history of attending formal ICT and supplier systems training courses.
- Special Knowledge:
- Proficient in using and managing Microsoft applications and SQL querying & programming.
- A well-developed understanding of IT databases, Housing Management, and Business Intelligence systems.
- Expertise in project management, change management processes, and understanding of financial responsibilities within Housing.
- Personal Circumstances:
- Willingness to work outside normal hours, including weekends, to oversee and manage systems.
- Ability to travel within and outside the borough as required.
