Analytics and Insights Analyst
6 Month Contract
Based in Sunbury on Thames, Surrey
Day rate up to £475PD Via Umbrella

The Analytics and Insights Analyst will deliver Business and Market intelligence support for Finance - procurement integrating commercial acumen and category management expertise to quantify the value captured from commercial frameworks by using external market insights and internal strategies, economic evaluation methodology, and performance history to quantify value opportunities for procurement.

Support will take the form of supplying market analyses, economic analyses, cost models, business case evaluations, and recommendations which will be used by category management teams to:

  • ensure our client procures competitively priced goods and services
  • enable better business decisions
  • derive additional savings & efficiencies from our 3rd Party Spend and (4) mitigate risk from changes in external markets


Key Accountabilities

  • Understand business operations, commercial landscape, and external market factors to recommend actions that build our client's bottom line.
  • Develop cost Intelligence support through building, analysing, and comparing cost models using cost component details, life cycle impacts and economic trends.
  • Derive insights from analytical models and scenarios to enable better decision making.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of the products and services used by our client and their supply markets and analysing it using the appropriate tools to deliver insights.
  • Lead engagements from end-to-end: initial conversation presentation of findings/recommendations with category teams and/or our clients suppliers.
  • Lead and collaborate with third party market intelligence providers to provide market insights.
  • Seek and collect feedback from partners to understand value enabled by cost Intelligence activities and act upon ideas for continuous improvement


Education

  • Finance, Business, or Technical University Degree


Essential

  • Commercial skills: economic modelling, cost modelling, business case development, financial memorandum (FM) development, Economic Evaluation Methodology (EEM), Group Investment Assurance and Appraisal Process (GIAAP)
  • Proven knowledge for Upstream commercial regimes notably production sharing agreements (PSA) and tax & royalty
  • Knowledge of Agile project management principles i.e. Kanban, scrum, sprint
  • Engagement and partner leadership skills, i.e., ability to enroll others to quickly gain their trust and respect
